Ron Brown Scholar Program

Each year, a minimum of ten students will be designated Ron Brown Scholars and will receive $10,000 annually for four years, for a total of $40,000. The recipients may use the renewable merit-based scholarships to attend the college or university of their choice. Ron Brown Scholarships are not limited to any specific field or career objective and may be used to pursue any academic discipline.

The Ron Brown Scholar Program is a national program that awards scholarships to academically talented, highly motivated Afro-American high school seniors who intend to pursue undergraduate degrees full-time. The program honors the late Ronald H. Brown, Secretary of Commerce during the Clinton administration. These scholarships are reserved for exceptional individuals who share Brown’s traits of excellence, leadership, commitment to public service, and desire to make a difference. In addition, applicants must demonstrate financial need. During college, Scholars are required to pursue at least one summer internship devoted to community service and one pre-professional internship.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award
Prudential recognizes college-bound high school students who have demonstrated exemplary community service. Each year, ten national honorees receive $5,000, a gold medallion, & trophy. One hundred additional students (2 from each state) receive a $1,000 state-level award.

The College Board
The College Board is a national nonprofit membership association whose mission is to prepare, inspire, and connect students to college success and opportunity. Founded in 1900, the association is composed of more than 4,300 schools, colleges, universities, and other educational organizations. Each year, the College Board serves over three million students and their parents, 23,000 high schools, and 3,500 colleges through major programs & services in college admissions, guidance, assessment, financial aid, enrollment and more.

Bonner Scholars Program
At 25 colleges in 12 states, the Bonner Foundation supports as many as 1500 students who receive up to $4,000 per year for four years. In return, award recipients are asked to serve their communities in a lasting and meaningful way, by committing 10 hours each week to volunteer service activities and 240 hours during at least one summer. To be eligible, students must also demonstrate financial need, solid academic performance, and a history of responsibility and good citizenship.
